Breadth Of Experience Counts
In my over 30 years of legal experience I have represented numerous clients in contentious custody battles, many of which have involved allegations of child sexual abuse, criminal conduct and complex medical and psychological issues. An attorney’s professional familiarity with these criminal defense issues, which impact custody decisions, is often critical to a favorable outcome.

- Get The Roach Law Firm’s Competitive Advantage
I have represented many divorce clients in financially sophisticated cases involving closely held corporations, hidden asset tracing, business valuation and domestic and foreign trusts. In these instances, the professional knowledge and experience I acquired serving as legal counsel to closely held domestic and foreign corporations has provided a springboard to prompt and effective case assessment. These abilities have saved my clients time and money
The attorneys on my family law team share many of the above talents and more. Each has many years of family law experience and possesses the requisite commitment to serve as your capable counsel and zealous advocate.
Trial Skills Matter
If we are unable to resolve the disputed case issues to the client’s benefit through negotiations, their family law case will proceed to a trial before a judge. All attorneys on my family law team are skilled and tenacious litigators, as at this stage that’s what the client needs.
My own valuable trial skills were not acquired overnight. They are by-products of years of litigating hundreds of cases, to both juries and judges — often providing contrast to the poorly honed courtroom skills of my opponents. I cannot guarantee a specific outcome to the client, as their fate rests with the judge. As the courtroom has been my playground and the situs of my most significant victories for over 30 years, the odds are with my team.
Appeals — You’re Covered
Once your family law trial has concluded the judge enters a final judgment on the evidence presented. Either or both parties have the legal right to challenge erroneous findings and conclusions set forth in the judgment through filing an appeal with the Missouri Court of Appeals. Many clients are wearied by the family law process by this juncture and may jointly opt out of appeal — accepting the judgment as it stands.
For those who reject it through choosing the appellate route, their success or failure may hinge on how they “played the game” at trial.
Rest assured that those on my family law team, all of whom do appellate work, are trained to make a good “record” at trial — designed to insulate our clients from appeals filed by the other party being successful, or sufficient to bolster any points of error our clients may choose to raise on appeal. My team can capably assist the client with the appellate phase, if chosen to do so.
